About
Uganda
Uganda is one of
the three countries that make East Africa. It is a beautiful country located
in the tropical part of Africa, rich in some of the rare animals and birds
in the world as well as a very attractive scenery that comprises of the
world's most famous mountains, lakes, rivers and impenetrable forests.
The unique peoples of Uganda and their cultures make it a must-visit,
they are hospitable, friendly and modest and have a lot more to offer
in terms of entertainment.
Uganda is truly
the "Pearl of Africa"
as witnessed by none other than Sir Winston Churchhill (the famous former
British Prime Minister and Statesman) when he visited this beautiful country
in 1907. In his book "My African Journey" he wrote, "Uganda
is truly the Pearl of Africa. The scenery is different, the vegetation
is different and most of all, the people are different from anything elsewhere
to be seen in the whole of Africa." The country still remains as
beautiful as he described it and in fact it has improved in terms of technology
and communication.
Uganda
is home to the source of the famous River Nile which is the second longest
river in the world. The River Nile begins it's long meandering African
journey right in heart of Uganda in the industrial town of Jinja. The
source of the Nile is a beautiful scenery with it's vast and abundant
fresh water life. Here in Jinja we have the Owen Falls well known for
it's strength that facilitates the provision of electricity that supplies
electricity to the whole of Uganda and some of the neighboring countries.
Uganda
is a popular destination for a large number of tourists from allover the
world. With the wars and reigns of dictatorship long gone, a lot of tourists
looking for an authentic African expedition prefer Uganda to other African
