Name: SOURCE OF THE NILE

Day
1: Kampala – Source of the Nile
--0900hrs depart from your hotel in Kampala to Eastern Uganda.
--Stop over at local handcraft stall in Mukono town then at Namawojolo
fruit market.
--Drive through Mabira tropical forest, where several forest birds
and some primates can easily be seen. Watch out for Colubus monkeys
and birds. In this area we travel through the tea estates, sugar
plantations, coffee banana shambas; and other mixed farming activities.
--Arrive at the famous Owen Falls Dam after about 90 minutes.
Owen Fall Dam was built in 1954 on the River Nile (the second
longest river in the world and the longest in Africa). We proceed
through Jinja town and to Masese fishing village.
--We proceed to Ripon Falls. Here at Ripon Falls, you are standing
at the very spot where John Speke became the first European to
correctly identify the geological grail.
--Lunch out in one of the restaurants in the nearby Jinja town.
-- Spend the afternoon touring at Bujagali Falls where several
rapids are situated close together. A very good place to take
quiet walks and later on relax in one of the quiet spots.
-- Later in the evening, return to your hotel in Kampala.

1 Kampala – Murchison Falls (Paraa Safari Lodge)
--7:30hrs meet at respective accommodation facilities. Begin the
panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle
and Masindi Town to Murchison Falls National Park.
--Stop over for lunch en-route to Murchison Falls National Park.
--Arrive in time to cross the swim bar pool (until 1645hrs) where
you will enjoy the sunset as you drive to the lodge.
--Enjoy the superb comfort and services (dinner and overnight)
at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day
2: Murchison Falls
--Early morning game drive via the Nyamsika Plateau, marvel at
elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, hartebeests and many more
wild animals.
--After lunch, proceed for a boat trip on placid Victoria Nile
upstream to the base of the falls, en route you will see hippos,
crocodiles, waterbuck and a wide variety of birds like the rare
Shoebill stork.
--The boat stops just a couple of meters from the “Devils
Cauldron.” Take pictures of the photogenic and majestic
Murchison Falls.
-- Return to the Paara Safari lodge for dinner and overnight

3: Paraa Safari Lodge – Kampala
--Take an early breakfast and then proceed to the top of the falls
where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected! Marvel at
the Nile, compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 6-meter
canyon, dropping 40meter with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful
rainbow and a plume of spray. A lovely and beautiful site described
by many as the best thing that ever happened to The Nile.
--After a picnic lunch, return to Kampala arriving late evening.

Day
1 Kampala – Mweya Safari Lodge
--07:30hrs: Meet at respective accommodation facilities.Then we
drive to Western Uganda, with a stopover at the Equator line for
photos. We then proceed through volcanic formations of the Western
Rift Valley towards Queen Elizabeth National Park.
--Stop for lunch in Mbarara town which is the largest town in
Western Uganda. They have many local and exotic dishes on offer.
-- Proceed with the trip and along the way as we drive slowly,
catch a nice view of gorgeous Lakes George and Edward amidst game-filled
plains.
-- En route to Mweya Safari Lodge proceed for a trip that passes
through possibly, the highest hippo concentration in Africa.Many
other wild animals can be seen drinking at the water’s edge.
-- Dine and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge which is beautifully
situated on a bluff overlooking the renowned Kazinga Channel and
Lake Edward.
Day
2: Queen Elizabeth National Park
-- Early game drive with a magnificent view of the sunrise, the
massive Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop provides excellent scene.
Expect to see lions, leopards, and elephants, defassa waterbucks,
Uganda kobs, topis (these are bigger than the normal antelopes)
and bushbucks. Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system
of the grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps lakes and
volcanic craters is a home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.
--After a late breakfast, proceed to boat cruising on Kazinga
Channel. The Kazinga Channel offers an excellent platform for
photography, bird watching and game viewing.
--After lunch at Mweya Safaris lodge proceed for an evening game
drive. The two game drives and boat cruising in a single day are
memorable method of discovering a vast array of Uganda Wildlife.
Day 3:
Mweya Safari Lodge - Maramagambo Forest - Kampala
-- Early morning depart to Maramagambo Forest which is large and
fairly thick with many different plant species and trees. 'Maramagambo"
locally means "out of words," the forest will definitely
leave you awed with it captivating features including the lakes
and animals. Visitors can walk through the tropical forest and catch
a glimpse of primates, including chimpanzees.
--Visit the bat caves and the “Blue Lake” This lake
has attractively "blue water" like the name suggests.
It is the only one of it's and only seen here in Maramagambo Forest.
--Early afternoon drive onward to Kampala with a stop over in one
of the towns for lunch and arrive in Kampala early that evening.

1 Kampala – Mburo National Park
--08:30hrs: depart from your hotel in Kampala to Western Uganda
with stopovers at the Drum Makers Market for a look at the local
crafts, fruit market and the Equator line for photos.
--In the early afternoon arrive at Lake Mburo National Park and
have a picnic lunch in quiet park grounds while you marvel at the
animals and birds within range.
--Game drive for the rest of the Afternoon, expect to see zebras,
topis (this type of antelopes is bigger than the normal ones), water
hogs, elephants, waterbucks and many more
--Overnight at Lake Mburo where they have recommendable lodging
facilities and besides, big towns with excellent lodging and dinning
facilities are not far away.
Day 2:
Lake Mburo – Mweya Safari Lodge
--After breakfast, proceed to Bushenyi town and Kyamuhanga Tea Estate
through the volcanic formations of the western arm of the East African
Rift Valley escarpment. Marvel at the scenery and the vast tea shambas.
--Game drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through channel track
to Mweya Lodge.
-- After lunch take a boat ride on Kazinga Channel which offers offers
an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.
--Game drive through out the entire evening.
--Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge. Day
3: Mweya – Kampala

Portal town for an overnight stay.

--After breakfast visit Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is the second
deepest lake (in some parts) in Africa. It is a unique lake with
29 islands and over 200 bird species.
--After lunch proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Buhoma) for
forest trekking, birding, game viewing, etc.
--Overnight in Buhoma.

3: Buhoma – Gorilla tracking
--Gorilla Tracking the entire day .
--In the evening return at Buhoma for overnight stay.

4: Buhoma – Mweya Lodge

1 Kampala – Kibale
--Meet in Kampala, transfer to Fort Portal, which nestles in the
shadow of the fabled “ Mountains of the moon” Mt. Rwenzori.
--Afternoon visit to Bigodi swamp (home of the Great Blue Turacos)
in Kibale Forest National Park, marvel at small mammals, birds and
primates. Highlights are finding the rare Columbus Monkey, the sitatunga
and Great Blue Turacos.
--Dine and overnight at Kibale Tented Camp.

2: Kibale Forest National Park
--Full day search of chimpanzees and 10 other primates including
I’hoestes, red Colubus monkeys, blue, red tailed and Gray
magabeys (types of monkeys). The guide will provide detailed explanation
on primates, forest flora and fauna. The walk is both informative
and enjoyable.
--Relax and learn while on a picnic lunch in the forest.
--Dine and overnight stay at CVK Guest House.

3: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park
--Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the scenic
Rwenzori Mountain ranges for most of the journey.
--Game drive on the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park, be rewarded
with sight of lions, antelopes, elephants, buffalos, hyenas, etc.
--After a buffet lunch, enjoy a unique 2-hour boat cruise on Kazinga
channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the
highest concentration of hippos and many other animals may be seen
drinking at water edges. The launch offers an excellent platform
for photography, bird watching and game viewing.
--The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over
500 resident species.
--Dine and stay overnight at either Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana
Safari Lodge.

4: Queen Elizabeth National Park
--Early morning Game drive.
--Breakfast, leisure morning and lunch at Mweya Lodge.

Day 5: Queen
Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi
? Drive through the “Switzerland of Africa”, known as
the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads
to Bwindi.
? Dinner and overnight at Kitandara tented camp.

6: Gorilla Tracking
--Early morning entry into the Gorilla Sanctuary with a spectacular
rainforest, which offers a dramatic steep forested landscape, crisscrossed
by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Mammals include
the endangered mountain gorillas, rare golden monkeys, Colubus monkeys,
baboons, several bird species, etc.
--Dine and stay overnight at Kitandara.

7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Kampala
--Breakfast and leisurely drive back to Kampala.
--Several stopovers along the way for snacks, local crafts and lunch
in Mbarara town.

2: Kasese – Rwenzori
--After breakfast, guide will have purchased all necessary items
for the hike in Rwenzori mountains ("Mountains of the Moon").
--Proceed to Ibanda, the foot of Rwenzori Mountains; your porter
and guide are introduced to you. Proceed to the first hut (Nyabitaba)
for an overnight stay.
--Day 2 –
8 in the Rwenzori, and on the 8th day you are collected from Ibanda
and taken to Kasese to your hotel for an overnight stay.

9: Kasese - Kampala
--Breakfast at leisure.
--Afternoon leisurely drive back to Kampala with stopovers for items

1 Kampala – Kidepo
--You are met at Entebbe Airport and transferred to Kidepo Valley
National Park by a light aircraft.
--Evening game drive. Expect to catch a glimpse of the worlds tallest
animals, the giraffes, the elephants, etc. the climate and vegetation
is different and little bit dry.
Stay overnight at Apoka Rest Camp.
Day2:
Kidepo-Entebbe
--Game drive, and visit the Karamojong tribe in the afternoon. The
Karamojong tribe are well known for their unique and interesting
cultural behavior.
--Overnight stay at Apoka Rest Camp.
Day
3: Kidepo-Entebbe
--Might have some time to do more game viewing before being transferred
from this region to Entebbe National Airport. |

–Lake Victoria
Try out fishing on the world's second largest lake and largest in
Africa. Lake Victoria has a large number of fish species and most
famous are the Nile Perch which are very huge. Here you will have
an opportunity to break the current record of the largest fish caught
at 95kg. Lake Victoria offers excellent opportunities for good and
huge catches on the many rocky islands.
Usually we supplement
fishing with a boat cruise on this marvelous lake with a chance
to view the birds, the Sesse Islands, and marvel at the different
activities by the locals. |

Sail to Ngamba
Island Chimp Sanctuary. Arrive at the Chimp Sanctuary to see some
33 Chimpanzee orphans being fed (more chimps are added from time
to time).
While there
you can study hundreds of birds such as the huge fish eagle, the
king fisher and the scoops owl. Ngamba Island is also well known
for it's giant monitor lizards and otter families. |
