Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP):
Located in the Western Part of Uganda, QENP was named after the famous Queen Elizabeth of England. It is the second largest national park in Uganda and spans about 1978 sq km. It is an exceptional game park that features some of the unique African animals like the tree climbing lions and brilliantly colored birds. Crater lakes within QENP are filled with flocks of pelicans, storks and herons. There is an important bird sanctuary, the Ramsar Wetland which is home to over 1000 bird species.

A lion with it's cubsWild animals found in this park include the hippos, buffalos, Uganda Kobs, lions, elephants and giant forest hogs. QENP includes Lake Edward and Lake Albert which are connected by the Kazinga channel. You will marvel at the aquatic life in these lakes and the neighboring smaller water bodies. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park(BINP):
BINP is located in south western Uganda and it has the biggest sanctuary of mountain gorillas in the world. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Click to view a larger pictureThe vegetation composed of undergrowth and vines is thick and almost impenetrable. It allows and makes Bwindi Impenetrable forest a suitable home to large numbers of monkeys and chimpanzees. BINP is a true African jungle.

Not far away from BINP is the Mgahinga Gorilla national park which features more mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, the African Monkeys, etc. Come and experience the excitement of game watching and capture marvelous shots of the rare mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in their most natural environment.

Kidepo Valley National Park(KVNP):
Animals in Kidepo National Park KVNP is situated in the upper right-hand corner of Uganda. It offers a quiet environment for it's inhabitants enabled by the endless savannah grasslands only interrupted by the beautiful mountain ranges.

KVNP features some of the animals found nowhere else in Uganda. These unique animals include Burchell's Zebra, Rothschild giraffes, bat eared foxes, etc. In KVNP you will also find cheetahs, stripped hyenas, white buffalos, lions, leopards, ostriches and the easily seen jackals. KVNP is a popular stop with most of the tourists and Nile Safaris Ltd has one of the best touring itineraries involving this national park.

Murchison Falls National Park(MFNP):
It is the largest national park in Uganda and An elephant in Murchision Falls National Parkarguably the most spectacular in Africa. There are two amazing falls as a result of the Nile River flowing through narrow gorges within the mountain ranges. They are: the great Murchison Falls and Karuma Falls.

MFNP has a very high concentration of it's along the River Nile where water is readily available. The animals found in MFNP include giraffes, crocodiles, elephants, antelopes, buffalos, birds-including the A very rare bird, a shoebill can be found in MFNP rare shoebill, flamingos, pelicans and other wading birds.

Visit MFNP to enjoy the unforgettable view of the falls as well as the large number of animals that it hosts.

Lake Victoria
It is the world's largest tropical lake and second largest fresh water lake in the world. Lake Victoria is home to tones of aquatic life including Nile Perch and Tilapia. There are over 80 islands on Lake Victoria that are mostly inhabited by some of the rare birds including kingfishers, gray parrots, and fish eagles. These many islands on this lake, especially the Ssese group are well known all over the world for their beautiful landscape, health resorts and sightseeing places.

The main coastal towns on Lake Victoria include Entebbe (home to Uganda's main airport), the industrial town of Jinja, Mwanza and Bukoba in Tanzania, and Kisumu in Kenya. Kampala, the Capital city of Uganda is only a few Kilometers away. Do not forget that the famous River Nile originates from this lake. The scenery at this point is captivating, you will love the indentation of the shores.

Source of the Nile River:
River Nile starts it's long north-ward African journey in Uganda right in the industrial town of Jinja. It is the longest river in Africa. River Nile is commonly known as the "Source of Life" because it provides some of the basic necessity for both humans and animals which obviously include water, electricity, etc. A crocodile on the banks of River Nile

The crocodiles are a common sight along the banks of the Nile River. Other animals and birds are in abundance on the banks or in their habitats along the river. The source of the Nile, situated about 75 km from Kampala is a major tourist attraction and will offer you a great touring experience.

Along the River Nile there are numerous rapids and falls including Bujagali falls. Fun activities on River Nile include fishing, rafting and motor boating.

Historic and Cultural attractions/sites:
The Royal tombs at KasubiThe include the Kasubi Tombs where the kings of the former Kingdom of Buganda are buried. The Kasubi Tombs are located only 7 km from the Ugandan capital of Kampala. Here you will meet the cultural guards who are can only be relatives of the former kings. Inside the palace you will get a chance to see some of the belongings of the former kings, who are locally know as "Kabaka" (singular).

There are many cultures in Uganda each with it's customsA Karimajong woman in traditional dress (dress, language, dances, beliefs,traditions and other behavioral patterns). Visiting these people will teach you a thing or two about them and you will surely find it fascinating just as much as they find your culture fascinating to them.

Along with their cultures are the cultural treasures including beautiful local painting and hand-crafts. These items are very inexpensive and readily available in the local crafts shops in the city or at trade shows. Ugandans are very hospitable and friendly people; they like to entertain.
